LIA OVERVIEW

Life in Abundance International is a Christian non-profit organization that seeks to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ through empowering churches to reach out to their community. LIA exists to make Christ known among the nations and ascribes fully to the guiding contents of the Lausanne Covenant for World Evangelization.

LIA’s mission is “to declare God’s glory among the nations and His marvelous deeds among all peoples (Psalms 96:3), that they may have life in abundance (John 10:10).”

Life in Abundance was started by Dr. Florence Muindi (a Kenyan doctor) in Ethiopia in 2000. In the 7 years that Life in Abundance has existed, it has impacted 65 communities. Over 3,000 individuals have been trained as community resource persons, 600 families have benefited from income generating activities, and nearly 900 persons have benefited from skills development programs, while more than 600,000 have received health education and clinical care. In 2002 an international financial office was set up in the United States and was incorporated as a 501 (c) 3. LIA has offices in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Nairobi, Kenya, and Pasadena, CA, USA.
